In Between the Lines

Amidst the vast changing world, everything is in flux, people come and people go, people work and people run in order to meet the deadline.  Why always in a hurry?  Why panic? The answer? Because I want to meet the deadline.  Always the deadline!  Yes, deadline!  What if you will die before you finish the line?

The line never ends.  It is infinite.  The life's demand never stops.  Not unless we stop, look and listen like the signs in the traffic light, we will never meet the deadline.  We might die on the spot without meeting our purpose.  We have to remember, before we finish the line, we first have to see the messages in between the lines.  We will not be able to read them because we are very much preoccupied to anticipate the end.  However, if we try to follow and see every steps we are making, then we will be able to recognized the dots and the period.
In life, it is sometimes like this.  We tend to forget the reasons of living.  We forget the reasons why we are here on earth.  We are so much busy discovering, inventing, hunting, preparing, working, studying, preaching, and serving.  We did them nicely and lovingly but sometimes harshly because we were in a hurry to meet all the activities at the end of the day.  And because we want to reach our target goal and our objectives, there are times that the end does not justify the means.  We have reasons, speculations and theories but they never become a reality.  We will never be satisfied, we keep on moving, we keep on hurting one another, we keep on judging, we keep on playing games with one another because we want to be always the best and the first to reach the end.  Sometimes we think we are serving God justly because we are members of a certain religious orders and institutions.  We think we are loving enough because we are doing a very nice apostolate, we help the poor and we give tithes to the church.  Most especially, we thought we are important enough because we are the most privilege and the most important person in society.  Actually, what we are thinking are just part of the dots and period in between the lines.  We thought we carry the message that God wanted to say in the world because our names were listed in the VIP's (Very Important Persons) and higher rank in society/community and we have serve and did the will of God all our lives.  Yes, it is true but why are we still longing for more?  For more applause?  For more award?  For more power and recognition?  We want our names and faces be put in the billboard.  We want our work to be published in the newspaper.  We fight and use our power in order to let others know who we are.  Is this what our life is for?  Is this what we think the will of God for our lives?  I don't think so.  When peace will not be experience, we will never be truly happy.  We are always restless. We will never hit the mark.  We will never make it to the finish line because what we are doing is a crooked line.  A line full of blots and dots because there is no direction.  We thought we were on the way to God but it is not actually to God, it goes back to our own selves because of selfishness, arrogance and pride.
Fortunately, the good message there is we can still make the difference, we could erase the past and start again.  We can start writing in the grace of God and put some notes in between the lines of life so we can produce a good music that soothes the broken hearts of humanity.  Thus, making God happy.  We should not be obsessed in finishing the target line but in every single step and writing of our life we take, again in every single but sure step, we will be able to reach the conviction that this is what I want to finish the line without experiencing death on the spot but a new life and a new beginning with Christ, in Christ and for Christ.  This is what I want to live my life for Christ.
